I am a mother of a 6 year old boy with Autism, I am married but he left us over a year ago. I am absolutely struggling and I feel like i’m going to lose it. Suicide is not an option at this point only because i have to live for my son. I work through a nursing agency which DOES not provide regular hours and health benefits or even sick time pay! I am actively looking for a stable position as a nurse but it is not out there right now, the economy really changed.
My mom died 2 years ago from leukemia and I still long for her. She was everything to me, it still devastates me to not see my son grow with her. We use to talk for hours about everything. I’m happy she was at least able to see her first grandchild which is my son.
My dad died a year ago from throat cancer, a result of smoking, We were just starting to know each other again after years of abuse-physical and sexual abuse, I forgave him.
I have 1 brother, If you aked him what my hair color was, he wouldn’t be able to answer that, need i say more.
I have a huge family, cousins ,aunts,etc but they rather hook up with other strangers than spend some time with me, I don’t even know why?
But my biggest problem is getting decent child care for my son with autism, It’s toooo dam expensive!!! I live in brooklyn, the school system in bk is THE WORST!!! I just don’t know where to turn. His father will not help and besides I have a domestic violence issue with him. I am denied of all help because of my “income” r u kidding me. Guess what I HAVE NOOOO FURNITURE!!! can’t afford it. I went food shopping the other day for the week and I only had 19.00 dollars in my pocket.
All of it is going to BILLS, CHILDCARE, and this fckn RENT!!! for this ghetto? I want much better for my son!! can i really go back to school? no certainly not right now!
I personally not seen a doctor since my son was born, 6 years now. I have menstuation problems that I may have to put myself in the ER reall soon.
God forbids my son get sick because he is not insured either. I could go on and on and on and on and on and on and on but i’m only provided with a small number of characters.
If I had a wish (closing my eyes) I wish I’d win the lottery of a Life Make Over…..
