Maya Emmy Dolphin – far less frenetic than my first video :) – Another vestibule video of my dolphin mosaic, albeit a less frenetic view since I had a day or so to digest the current reversal of circumstances/future endeavors perhaps leading to fortune and/or come what may…. This project was conceived of almost 8 years ago in the midst of another grueling sizable sculpture (Mayim E.Flamingo) which actually gave birth to my vision of creating an even more spectacular 3-D mosaic sculpture constructed with hand picked components…The flamingo, even though you cannot really judge by perusal, was created entirely from left over materials, scraps and whatever I could dig up to embed into the mastik…Luckily I keep leftovers around for projects such as this one that sprang up out of no where and was a donation — with a deadline :( … I usually do not work under the pressures of deadlines, yet I committed myself and through stubborn tenacity (and the desire to not come to the party empty-handed, Mayim E. Flamingo made it on time and now stands as a landmark for those who visit the old Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged—recently renamed Miami Jewish Health Systems. This is where My dolphin, dubbed Maya Emmy had her genesis and where she stood closeted for the past 24 months as the “Home” was majorly restructured and many of its long time employees were recycled to be a bit delicate…
