Does Spine Surgery Hurt?

Question by adela9706: Does spine surgery hurt?
The doctor says that my spine isn’t exactly in the correct position (it’s not straight, it’s diagonal), and I might need spine surgery to move it back to the middle by pulling your veins. Does it hurt?? I’m really scared.

hon, any surgery hurts, the doc’s will take care of you;; they will make sure your pain level is @ a minimum;; but you should know that the tissues heal in 6wks, the bone in 8 if everything goes really well, & your rehab could take a few months…& by the way, it not the veins they pull, ya gotta talk to your doc;; see if he has any written material on the subject, pictures & such, it will help you understand your surgery better;; but I think he also told you the consequences if you don’t go thru surgery;; don’t be scared, just do a little research & don’t forget to ask the doc for help;; also tell him you’re scared, he’ll give you all the info you need, either him or his nurse..good luck!!
