Question by Alejandra: Is it normal that i still get phantom pains after 5 years of my amputation?
Sometimes i can’t sleep because the pain is so intense or they will disappear for some time and then come back again. I don’t use a prosthesis because the height of my amputation, so i don’t know why i still get them. Is this normal?
I know i haven’t talked to my doctor and by this time i should but i didn’t think it was a big deal until now.

From what I read, there really is no limit on how long one feel some level of phantom pain. The site below had some suggestion regarding pain management. And there are certainly other sites online.
